Join us at the museum for the official opening of the new historic photograph exhibit Crannell: A Company Town 1906-1969. Curator Tom Sharp will give a short introduction to the exhibit and refreshments will be served.

Annual Meeting - Trinidad Museum Society's Annual Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 7. Special guest speaker Chris Brodbeck and his son Tom are the descendants of a local gold rush prospector.

Jeff Jacobsen, who collects data on whales along the coastline and is aprincipal contributor of whale research to universities and organizations, will speak on “Local Whales and Beyond.” Jacobsen assisted Tom Sharp in preparing the current “Trinidad Whaling 1920-27” photo and natural history exhibit at the museum.
July 29, Noon to 3 PM
OLLI (HSU life long learning program) sponsored tour of old Trinidad which will include a walk to the 1871 Trinidad Head Lighthouse.

Trinidad Arts Night - Come and enjoy poetry readings by four local published poets: Ruth Mountaingrove, Pat McCutcheon, Vinnie Peloso, and Sandy Stephens. This will be the last of the Trinidad Arts Night events until 2012.

Book Signing at the Trinidad Town Hall- Grave Matters by Tony Platt, a recent publication of Heyday Press.

Friends of the Trinidad Library Present “Light Up the Night for the Library”- This event is a community Open House between 2 and 6 p.m. All Trinidad residents are encouraged to decorate in the spirit of the season. Trinidad Museum will be open as usual from 12:30 to 4 with harpist Howdy Emerson playing from 2 to 4 and Allie Lindgren as docent.

Reception at the Museum on Friday November 19 at 4PM featuring two exhibits - Trinidad Whaling with photos from 1920 - 1927, and Native American Jewelry and Adornments of Northwestern California.

Reception with artist Martha Kemp - Twelve original botanical drawings of plants in redwood forests. Green Diamond sponsored reproductions of posters and cards will be available to support the Museum.
